THE PLACE:
Kapkesembe village is in the Rift Valley Province and the Sotik District. In the 2009 census there were 2020 villagers in 369 households with the population density of 425.03 in an  area of 4.75 kilometers. The district population is 383,000 with 232,000 below age 18. The district has the lowest monthly average household income in the province. The main economc activity is subsistence maize farming. Water is obtained from ditches, rivers, streams, roof collecting and often requires walking long distances. This was the site of the first water well.
